1.What’s iTalkBB App?
iTalkBB App is the free international calling app that enables iTalkBB/iTalkM users to make international calls worldwide faster and easier. This app supports our 「iTalkGlobal」feature, and allows you to make international calls via Wi-Fi, Data Networks, or local numbers.
2.Do I need to change my mobile carrier to use iTalkBB App?
No need. You only need to activate your 「iTalkGlobal」feature with iTalkBB Home Phone Service or sign up iTalkM service.
3.Can I make calls without using my mobile carrier's service?
Yes. Please setup your Wi-Fi connection and make calls via "Wi-Fi Call", then you can enjoy international calling via iTalkBB App.
4.Can I make calls when I travel aboard?
Yes. When travelling abroad, please setup your Wi-Fi connection and make calls via "Wi-Fi Call", then you can enjoy international calling via iTalkBB App.
5.Is iTalkBB App using my Wi-Fi connection or my mobile carrier’s 3G/4G data network to place a call?
By default, iTalkBB App will place a call using your Wi-Fi connection.
If you are not connected to a Wi-Fi network, you can choose to make call via "Mobile Minutes Call" or enable "Use 3G/4G Data" to make calls via your cellular carrier’s 3G/4G data network. (Carrier charges may apply over 3G/4G/LTE networks if you are roaming or have a limited data plan.)
6.What are the differences between "Wi-Fi Call", "Data Call", or "Mobile Minutes Call"?
Wi-Fi Call or Data Call(for fast internet connections) :
When you choose "Wi-Fi Call" as a primary option to make a call, the App will place all your calls over a Wi-Fi connection by default and this won't cost you any mobile minutes.
When you enable "Use 3G/4G Data", calls will be connected using your mobile data network (might result in additional charges from your mobile carrier).
Mobile Minutes Call (for slow internet connections) :
Calls are connected using your mobile minutes from your mobile carrier. Best used when you have a poor internet connection. Calls will be made through an "iTalkBB Local Number", a domestic number, which will not be subject to any international calling rates through your mobile phone carrier.
When you do not have access to a Wi-Fi connection, the App will notify you and ask you if you want to call via your mobile network and use your mobile minutes.
7.How do I make calls via my mobile carrier’s 3G/4G data network (Data Call)?
First of all, please select "Wi-Fi Call" in the "Calling Preference" under "Settings". Then you can select to "Use 3G/4G Data"
If you are not connected to a Wi-Fi network, you can choose to make calls via "Data Call" if you have cellular carrier’s 3G/4G data network. (Carrier charges may apply over 3G/4G/LTE networks if you are roaming or have a limited data plan.)
8.How to make international calls with iTalkBB App?
It’s easy. Simply input the number you wish to dial on your keypad or select directly from your contact list.
When using the keypad, please enter your contact’s Country Code+ Area Code+ Phone Number. For example, to call a person in Korea, 011 82 10 12345678 (Please note: no blank space between numbers and no 0 is needed when the area code begins with 0).
If you would like to use contact list to make calls, please make sure the phone number is saved in the format of Country Code+ Area Code+ Phone Number.
9.What are calling rates when making calls via iTalkBB App?
You can find out calling rates in the "Calling Rates" section under "Settings".
10.What’s "iTalkBB Local Number"?
"iTalkBB Local Number" is a domestic number provided by iTalkBB. Using this number, iTalkBB App allows you to make international calls by dialing a domestic number.
11.How does "iTalkBB Local Number" work?
We associate the "iTalkBB Local Number" to the international number you wish to call, and since the "iTalkBB Local Number" is a domestic number, there is no need to pay any international calling rate through your mobile phone provider. Simply dial the "iTalkBB Local Number", and your call will connect automatically to the international number you wish to call without any hassle.
12.When I see the pop-up message "Can not connect to network", what does it mean?
When you are not connected to the internet or if your internet is not stable, it may take too long to reach our server. If this happens, please double check your internet connection by simply visiting any webpage to see if you can open it successfully. Once your internet connection works, you can try to use iTalkBB App again.
13.Will iTalkBB App still work when I change my mobile handset?
Yes. You can continue to use iTalkBB App after verifying your account with your new cell phone.
14.Will the App still work when I change my SIM card?
If your new SIM card uses the same phone number as before, there is no need to make any changes to your Settings, the iTalkBB App will continue to function right away.
If you use a new phone number, please update your new phone number in your iTalkBB Online Account and verify the account in the app again.
15.How do I update my iTalkBB App version?
App will notify you whenever there is a new version. You can also find out if there is any new version by taping "Version" under the "More" section.
